Installed into a Stampede. This gearbox worked out well for me. Swapped all of the stock internals from the stock gearbox to this gearbox without an issue. Bearings fit fine for me. Heard about some people having to use tape around the outer ring of bearings to tighten up the fit. Could be worn bearings in my opinion. It is pretty much a huge heat sink for the motor. No need for a fan even under 3s LiPo loads. The aluminum will sound a little noisier from the gears whining. The plastic stock gearbox kind of dampens the sound. This would be a good time to grease the gears when you take the stock box apart. Either way, noise isn't an issue for me. It's no louder than a brushless motor screaming at high RPM's. If you are using a STRC Rear Shock Tower then mounting the tower to the gearbox will be a tight fit but it goes together fine.

This transmission case is great, the only issue ive found since purchase would be that the main spur gear pin that comes out of the gear box isnt held in as tight as the stock or plastic replacements. Although I havnt stripped that gear the pin can move about a 1/8 inch with all steel VXL gears. I am running it in a Rustler with the VXL motor and Mamba Max Pro esc, 7.4v 5000 30c 2s Venom Lipo and it hauls some major balls. The added weight actually helps my cars grip and stability at high speeds i clocked it at 54mph with the plastic gear box and at 51 with the aluminum. It will fit on the Bandit Stampede Rustler and, 2wd Slash.

I have two of these. The skidplate mounting holes at the bottom rear do not line up. I altered the chassis to make them work.
